CASE STUDY-XERO ACCOUNTANT/BOOKKEEPER

This is a case study of a client who wanted an XERO Accountant/ Bookkeeper to assist them in updating their accounts in XERO accounting system.

The client had their accounts messed up, so they sought a new accountant/bookkeeper to clean up the books and update their accounts. The client found my account on my Upwork profile.

I will show the problem and the solution provided to the client.

Problem

The client faced several challenges with their accounts in the Xero system, requiring immediate assistance.

Firstly, the cost of goods sold (COGS) calculation was not correctly set up in A2X, leading to inaccuracies.

Additionally, SKUs were not properly updated, causing further discrepancies.

The process of posting invoices from A2X to Xero was being done manually and incorrectly, resulting in missed entries.

Moreover, the PayPal clearing accounts were not clearing as expected, while sales reconciliation did not align with Shopify reports.

There were also unexplained variances in supplier, debtor, and bank reconciliations, contributing to financial confusion.

Consequently, these issues culminated in the financial statements being inaccurate, highlighting the urgent need for a systematic overhaul to ensure accurate and efficient accounting practices.
